IIT Madras to conduct 'Sports Tech Start Up Conclave' on July 12 and 13 in Delhi
IIT Madras is set to host the 'Sports Tech Start-up Conclave' on July 12 and 13, 2024, in Delhi. This event is designed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within the sports technology field by uniting industry experts, scholars, and emerging companies.
The event will showcase a variety of workshops, including panel discussions, keynote speeches, and case studies. The discussions will cover a wide range of subjects, from using technology to enhance athlete performance to the latest developments in sports science and nutrition. Prominent speakers include Prof. Dr. Kamakoti, the Director of IIT Madras, and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports. "Sports tech is a nascent industry in India, but it holds immense potential for our athletes to achieve global recognition," said Prof. Mahesh Panchagnula, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations) at IIT Madras and Head of CESSA.
IIT Madras will also offer financial backing of up to Rs 5 crore to chosen sports-tech startups through its Pravartak Technologies Foundation and the Centre of Excellence in Sports Science and Analytics (CESSA). The selected startups will concentrate on developing AI and IoT-based solutions and applications that improve different facets of the sports sector, such as athlete performance, fan interaction, and sports analytics.
