According to RTI data, around 38% of the IIT students from all 23 campuses have not yet been allotted placements. According to the data, about 8,500 students out of the 21,500 registered this year have not been allotted placements, which is a significant increase from previous years. In 2023, the percentage of un-assigned students stood at 23%, and in 2022 it was at 19%. According to reports, some IITs, including Delhi and Mumbai, have reached out to alumni networks to help them find placements for unassigned students.
