Concerning the trajectory at IIT Bombay, despite being the top institution of computer science and engineering. Students are facing major issues in securing 100% placements. According to reports, 712 students out of 2000 students who have registered for placements remain unemployed. Most companies who came in for placements were unable to accept pre-decided packages and hence negotiations had to be made. The impact of the recession is now being faced by major reputed institutions also, which again includes IIT Bombay. Sadly the maximum placement rate was 35.8%, which only covers 2.8% more than the previous academic session.
Prime reasons as suggested by experts are the increasing job market and growing competition as there are more and more people graduating every year. Many students have bashed the internet, expressing their disappointing reviews about the week's economic climate. Students have moreover felt that their efforts of studying so hard have been wasted as they are not receiving desired and positive results.
If the situation continues to worsen in such a manner this can result in various adverse effects on the students.
