Over 140 Indian students awarded Erasmus scholarships in 2024

The Erasmus+ scholarship program has awarded 75 women and 71 men from India for a two-year master’s program, with students heading to various EU member states and partner countries. India continues to be the top recipient of the Erasmus+ scholarship since its inception in 2004, reflecting the high caliber of Indian students and their growing interest in European academic offerings. The program allows students to study and conduct research in at least two European universities, earning joint degrees in diverse fields such as sustainability, pharmaceuticals, engineering, quantum, data, and other STEM and social science programs. The fully funded scholarship covers tuition fees, travel costs, and living allowances, enabling students to focus on their studies and experiences. As ambassadors of the EU-India partnership, these students are expected to strengthen the relationship between the two regions. The 20th anniversary of the Erasmus Mundus joint master’s program in 2024 highlights its significant impact on students, institutions, and countries outside the EU. Over 2,600 students from 137 countries have been awarded Erasmus scholarships this year, underscoring the program's global reach and its role in promoting international understanding and cooperation.
