Delhi University (DU) has declared a rise in tuition fees for first-year students across all undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels, beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. This policy, endorsed by Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh in June, will impact a range of courses with notable price increases. In the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program, first-year students' tuition has increased by 3.70%, moving from Rs 2.16 lakh to Rs 2.24 lakh. The five-year Integrated Law Program has experienced a 5% increase, rising from Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 1.99 lakh. Moreover, the four-year Integrated Teachers Education Program (ITEP) tuition has been hiked to Rs 57,400. First-year PhD students are facing the highest increase, with their fees jumping by 60.22%, from Rs 4.450 to Rs 7.130. The changes in the fee structure also encompass higher tuition fees, increased funds for student welfare, development fees, and charges for facilities.
