AI and Blended Learning: A Synergistic Approach to Optimize PG Medical Training
The NEET PG 2024 exam, initially scheduled for June 23, has been rescheduled to August 11, causing concern among students about delays in the academic calendar and subsequent counselling sessions. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) cited the need to maintain the examination's integrity and student welfare as the reasons for the delay. Dr. Minu Bajpai, NBEMS executive director, emphasized that despite the slight delay in the new academic session, the training duration and syllabus coverage will not be compromised. Technological aids such as AI, blended learning, and flipped classrooms will be utilized to ensure students complete their courses on time without additional pressure.
Dr. Ajit Kumar of Sharda University highlighted the disruption to the academic cycle, noting that the rescheduling could result in a six-month delay for students. This follows previous disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A government ministry official underscored the need for proactive measures to maintain the quality of medical education amidst such challenges, pointing to past resilience and adaptability of the education system. Establishing a high-powered committee aims to address examination loopholes and introduce reforms to ensure the timely commencement of future exams.
