ABOUT
Chicago, Illinois is home to the prestigious private research university known as the University of Chicago. The Hyde Park neighbourhood of Chicago is home to the institution's primary campus. The University of Chicago is consistently ranked among the top universities in the world, and it is widely considered to be one of the most competitive educational institutions in the entire country. An undergraduate college and five graduate research divisions make up the university. These divisions house all of the university's graduate programmes and interdisciplinary committees and are responsible for conducting graduate research. Chicago is home to a total of eight professional schools, including a Law School, a Booth School of Business, a Pritzker School of Medicine, a Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, a Harris School of Public Policy, a Divinity School, a Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies, and a Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. The main campus of the university is located in downtown Chicago, in addition to campuses and centres in the cities of London, Paris, Beijing, Delhi, and Hong Kong. Many academic fields, such as economics, law, literary criticism, mathematics, physics, religion, sociology, and political science, owe a significant amount of their origins and development to the contributions made by scholars affiliated with the University of Chicago. The "radiocarbon revolution" in carbon-14 dating of ancient life and objects was brought about as a direct result of advances in chemistry. The administration of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the Argonne National Laboratory, and the Marine Biological Laboratory are all a part of the research activities conducted by the university. In addition, the university is home to the University of Chicago Press, which is regarded as the most successful academic publishing house in the United States.
