OCAD UNIVERSITY

Ontario College of Art & Design University, also known as OCAD or OCAD University, is a public art university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is spread throughout several facilities and buildings within downtown Toronto. The university operates three academic faculties and is a co-educational institution: the Faculty of Arts and Science, the Faculty of Art, and the Faculty of Design. Through its School of Continuing Studies, the university provides continuing education services. The Ontario Society of Artists was established and founded in 1876 as the Ontario School of Art, Canada's first school that opened in Canada, focusing on art education. The institution was empowered to grant certain academic degrees soon after it got university status in 2002. In 2021, the total enrollment was 4,600 undergraduates and 390 graduate students. As of 2022, approx 25000 alums hold an association with OCAD.
