#About The Institution:
- Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) is a state-funded third-level educational freely available large-scale institution situated in the city of Waterford, Ireland. The institute has six Schools and offers programs in Business, Engineering, Science, Health Sciences, Education & Humanities.
- The institute opened in 1970 as a Regional Technical College and adopted its present name on 7 May 1997. The current president of WIT is Prof. Willie Donnelly. It will become a founding constituent institute of the Technological University for the South East in May 2022.
- The president of WIT is Prof. William Donnelly, and the chairman is Richard Langford. It is a state-funded institute situated in Waterford, Ireland. The institute has six campuses, namely Cork Road Campus (main campus), College Street Campus, Carriganore Campus, Applied Technology Building, and The Granary campus.
#Courses:
- The institute offers programs in Business, Engineering, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities and Sciences. It has collaborated with Teagasc to deliver educational programs. It provides a double degree with Munich University of Applied Sciences and a double B.Sc. degree with NUIST (Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology). A double degree with the l’Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Bretagne Brestdouble in Business is also offered.
- The major departments in WIT are Business - There are 13 undergraduate courses for bachelor's degrees and 15 PG degrees. There are also 16 part-time degrees. Engineering - There are 18 degrees for UG courses, 10 PG courses, 13 part-time courses, and 2 add-on courses. Lifelong Learning & Education - 1 UG educational course & 3 post-graduate courses are available. Health Sciences - There are 15 UG courses, 5 PG courses, 10 part-time courses, and 2 add-on courses. Humanities - There are 18 UG courses, 6 PG courses, 6 part-time courses & 3 add-on courses. Science - 27 UG courses, 14 PG courses & 26 part-time courses are available.
- The UG course is of 3-4 years duration while the master's degree course is of 2 years. After completing PG, the students can work at WIT.
