United Kingdom recently re-introduced the 2-years post education stay back policy for all international students.
After intense debate by universities in the UK on losing diversified talent. This practice was scraped in 2012 by the then Home Secretary- ‘Theresa May’. The move ensures to benefit the international student community by allowing them to stay and work in the UK for 2 years after completing a Graduate course from a recognized institute. From 2012, international students were expected to leave the country in four months post completion of graduation.
With the new regulation, eligible students can not only stay and work in the UK for 2 years but also transfer their ‘student’s visa’ to a ‘skilled workers visa’ if they are able to find a job suitable to the skills criteria at the end of the 2 years. The academicians and educational promoters worldwide believe this new protocol to be a boon to international students, as students coming to the UK for further education invest a high monetary value in tuition fees and living expenses. To allay the burden of education loan becomes a huge responsibility after the completion of the course. Relaxation in the staying back time will assist students monetarily and give them the right exposure to gain relevant industry experience making them more employable in the home country.
UK has always been the most famous destination when it comes to studying abroad. Its top-notch universities and fine quality education have always retained its position as the first choice for international students. Universities in the UK have produced the best of Alumni and globally respected figures in the fields of Arts, Science, and Business. In the past few years though, owing to the stringent visa regulations implemented in order to curb on the immigration numbers, students were reluctant to apply for further studies in the UK. Hence, students were not in a better position to make the right decisions for their career.
Grad-Dreams believe that the ideal objectives of studying in a foreign country for an aspiring student should be to:
- Benefit from the quality of educational structure, facilities, faculty offered at the foreign institute
- Make themselves more employable in their respective industries
- Create a network of international connections
- Progress compared to peers who do not opt to study abroad
Having these objectives in mind one can blindly trust UK’s educational institutions as they have all the means to provide the world-class education that every aspiring student is looking for.
