Netherlands Diaries: Life as an International Student in Dutch Tech Master's

I had always dreamed of studying abroad, and the Netherlands was my top choice. I was drawn to the country's reputation for its high-quality education, its welcoming attitude towards international students, and its affordable cost of living.

I was not disappointed. My experience of living in the Netherlands as an international student pursuing a Master's in Technology has been nothing short of amazing.

# The education system

The Dutch education system is world-renowned for its quality. The universities in the Netherlands are highly ranked, and the teaching is excellent. The classes are small and interactive, and the professors are always available to help students.

I was particularly impressed with the way that the Dutch universities incorporate hands-on learning into their curriculum. This approach has helped me to develop the skills and knowledge that I need to succeed in my career.

# The cost of living

The cost of living in the Netherlands is relatively low compared to other European countries. This is a major advantage for international students, who often have to budget carefully.

Rent is the biggest expense for most students, but it is still possible to find affordable housing in the Netherlands. There are many student dorms and apartments available, and the government also offers subsidies to help students with their housing costs.

Food is also relatively inexpensive in the Netherlands. There are many supermarkets and grocery stores where students can buy groceries on a budget. There are also many affordable restaurants and cafes where students can eat out.

This makes it easy for international students to feel at home in the Netherlands. There are many student organizations and clubs where students can meet other international students and make friends. There are also many cultural events and activities that students can participate in.

# The transportation system

The transportation system in the Netherlands is excellent. It is easy and affordable to get around the country by train, bus, or bicycle. This is a major advantage for international students, who often need to travel to and from school and to other parts of the country.

The train system in the Netherlands is very efficient and reliable. There are trains that run to all major cities in the country, and the fares are very reasonable. The bus system is also good, and it is a more affordable option for students who are on a budget.

Bicycles are very popular in the Netherlands, and they are a great way to get around the city. There are dedicated bike lanes in most cities, and it is very safe to ride a bike.

# The social life

The social life in the Netherlands is very vibrant. There are many bars, clubs, and restaurants where students can go to socialize. There are also many cultural events and activities that students can participate in.

I have had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from all over the world while living in the Netherlands. I have also had the opportunity to experience many different cultures and cuisines.
