Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship
The Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship programme is intended exclusively for Indian students who perform academically and seek admission to the National University of Ireland Galway's Master's degree.

#Terms and Conditions
The following rules and conditions must be followed by both applicants and winners of the Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship:
Applicants must be classified as non-EU for tuition fee purposes; Applicants must have a NUI Galway offer; These scholarships cannot be coupled with any other tuition scholarships.
The scholarship sum solely covers the student's tuition and fees, not their living or lodging expenses.

He joined the Indian Civil Service in 1862 and rose through the ranks to become a senior officer before retiring in 1893. He was a prolific scholar who was well-versed in Indian culture. In the late 1800s, he became well-known for translating Sikh scripture and history into English and for promoting Sikkim and Punjabi culture on a global scale.
#Eligibility
The Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarships at NUI include the following requirements:
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- The applicant must have been accepted into a Taught- Master's program at NUI.
- A four-year bachelor's degree from a reputable college is required.
#Application Process
There are two stages to applying for the Max Arthur Macauliffe Merit Scholarship:
- Admission to the National University of Ireland (NUI).
- Application for the Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship.
Applicants must also submit a personal statement along with their scholarship application. It should be written in MS Word and should be no more than 1,000 words long. The statement should include the following:
- The applicant's desire to study at NUI Galway.
- How the candidate views his or her future relationship with the university.
- How the candidate plans to maintain ties with the university both during the scholarship period and as an alumnus.
The personal statement should be forwarded to InternationalMarketingRecruitment@nuigalway.ie, with the title of the scholarship scheme the candidate is applying for and the PAC application number in the subject line.
Note: Applicants will receive an e-receipt confirming their scholarship application within 10 days of submitting it.
#Selection Process
Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their academic achievements and personal statements.
Each scholarship application is also checked to see if the student has filed for a student VISA in Ireland.
Note: If the recipient does not follow the terms and conditions, NUI Galway maintains the right to terminate the scholarship.
