Documents Required for Visa Application

When the aspirant arrives in Latvia, the respective college applies for a student residence permit for the student on behalf of him. • The application form for a residence permit

• Recent passport size photographs

• Valid Passport

• Payment record of application fees, program fees, and resident permit

• Police Clearance Certificate for Latvia

• Financial Means of Subsistence like original Bank Certificate & Bank Statement

• Highest degree and all educational certificates

• The student needs to pay an amount of 500 to 720 USD security amount to the institute (100% refundable after the end of the course)

• TOEFL, IELTS, PTE scorecard

• The offer letter or letter of acceptance by the institute (Admission letter)

The process to apply for a study visa

A student needs a valid visa to enter Latvia, so apply for a Visa before you come to Latvia for your higher studies. If an International Student wishes to study in Latvia for a long term period, then he must beg for a long-term student visa. But before making any visa request, a student needs Acceptance Letter from the University he is going to study, then only he can apply for a Study Visa. The process for getting a visa can be a time taking so all the students must apply for the visa as soon as possible.

Before applying for a student visa, the student needs to follow the following steps:

• Bring all the original documents to the institute

• The conditional Offer Letter and receipt for the payment

• Need to appear in an online test or Skype interview

• Submit all the educational documents and certificates to the Academic Information Centre (AIC)

• After the report of the AIC, Universities will provide an Admission letter, Study agreement, Invoice for Tuition Fee (refundable in case of visa rejection), Invoice for the security deposit (refundable in case of visa rejection)

• If you paid all the tuition fees, then the university will receive the documents

• After that, the university will forward all the visa supporting documents to the students

• After that, the applicant need to visit the embassy with all the documents for a face to face interview

The visa processing can take up to 10 working days so, apply at least two weeks in advance and please note that if you submit applications to other VFS-offices except New Delhi, it might take another two days due to postal delivery. There will be service charges of Rs. 1573/- by VFS Global (inclusive of Goods and Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) on each visa application other than the visa fees.
