INLAKS SHIVDASANI FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships are available to deserving Indian students studying at universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other European nations. Through the programme, students pursuing full-time M.Phil., Master's,  or Doctoral degree programmes can apply for awards, grants,  and scholarships.

• The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation offers two types of scholarships: university courses and specific programmes.
• Each recipient's tuition, as well as other living and travel expenses, is covered by the foundation.
• The scholarship money is only given out once, and the Foundation never spends more than $100,000 on it.
• To be considered for the various scholarship programmes, applicants must be under the age of 30.
• Candidates who have been selected for an interview must attend two sessions.
• The deadline for applying for Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships was March 31, 2024.

#ELIGIBILITY

At the time of application, the candidate must be an Indian citizen who has lived in India for at least six months. Furthermore, all qualified candidates for Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships must meet the following criteria:

• No candidate should be more than 30 years old.
• Possess a first-class undergraduate degree from an Indian university.
• Before applying, international university graduates must have spent two years in India.
• Have met all of the prerequisites for entrance to the programme of study.

Furthermore, the applicant must not have earned a master's degree from a foreign university. At the time of application, the applicant must not have started a postgraduate degree programme overseas.

#Each fellowship has its own set of eligibility requirements. The criteria for each fellowship are discussed in detail in the following section:

Inlaks Fine Arts Awards

Any prestigious Indian institution where you completed your graduation or post-graduation.

Students in their final year in visual arts are also eligible.

You must have past experience hosting art exhibitions if you do not have a formal degree in visual arts.

Inlaks Fellowship for Indian Classical Music

A formal education in Indian classical music is required.

#Inlaks Theater Awards

• The candidate must be under 35 years old.
• Any authorised Indian university with a graduate or postgraduate degree.
• Candidates without a formal degree will be evaluated based on their outstanding previous accomplishments.

#Inlaks Research Travel Grant

• The candidate must be under 35 years old.
• A first-class master's degree or a first-class bachelor's (honors) degree is required.
• Preference will be given to those who have received a first-class grade in both graduation and postgraduation.
• Must have a confirmed Ph.D. programme registration in Humanities and Social Science for a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years at any accredited Indian institute.

Aside from the scholarships stated above, the Foundations also offers internships, fellowships, grants, and awards through the Inlaks Ravi Sankaran Program, AAA Artist Grant, Film and Television Awards, Sports Awards, and other programmes.

#APPLICATION PROCESS

Scholarship applications for the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation must be submitted online through the website's portal, which is generally open from February 15 to March 31. (12:00 pm). Each applicant is only allowed to submit one application.

Required Documents for the Application

Along with the application form, the following documents must be submitted:

• Admission to a course or a university must be documented.
• The institute's financial requirements are spelled out in great detail.
• a photocopy of the passport's first and last pages
• At least one letter of recommendation, which can be provided directly to the institute at applications@inlaksfoundation.org.
• The email's subject line should be as follows: Reference Letter | Applicant's Name | Applicant's Email Address
• Applicants in the fields of architecture, fine and applied arts, film, dance, acting, and music must submit a PDF file or share an online link with their portfolio.

Before submitting the application, candidates should double-check all of the information. If a mistake continues, candidates must send it to applications@inlaksfoundation.org along with a screenshot.

#SELECTION PROCESS

The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship winners are chosen by the Foundation's independent Inlaks Selection Committee, which reviews and evaluates all applications before calling prospective individuals for interviews.

Candidates that pass the preliminary interview round are invited to the final interview round. At the time of the interview, all candidates must bring the following documents:

• a photocopy of the undergraduate diplomas
• Admission letter from a university or college
• Fees and charges
• Any fee reductions or waivers (if applicable)
• In the event of any additional expenditures, proof of financial capability is required.

By May 15, all candidates who have been selected for the preliminary round interview will be notified. In May or June, the Foundation conducts scholarship interviews in either Delhi or Mumbai.

#GRANT DETAILS

The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships provide endowment funding to young Indians in a variety of fields. It enables awardees to further their scientific, creative, cultural, and professional qualities while also allowing them to demonstrate them in India and internationally.

Approximately 600 scholars have earned awards over the years, with over 460 others benefiting from the scholarships.

#Terms and Conditions

• The following subjects are not eligible for scholarships:
• Engineering
• Computer science
• Business studies
• Medicine. Dentistry, and related therapies
• Public health
• Fashion design
• Music
• Film and film animation
• Engineering and Natural Sciences scholarships will be awarded at Imperial College London. Only if Indian Studies has current relevance is it considered as a subject. Only applications for degrees in Western Classical singing will be evaluated in the field of music. Only applications for Documentary Filmmaking will be evaluated in the Film category.
• Candidates must demonstrate that they can cover the additional funds if the total required money (tuition fees + living expenses) exceeds $100,000 USD. The proof must be submitted while filling out the online application and presented during the preliminary interviews.
• The candidate is not restricted from accepting additional scholarships, assistantships, or part-time job possibilities by the Foundation.
• Candidates whose courses of study involve field excursions back to India during their study period will not be considered for Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships.
• Candidates should inform the Inlaks Foundation if they have applied for a course that is different from the one for which they want support from Inlaks, regardless of the school.
