IIT Madras creates joint masters with German partners

Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in collaboration with RWTH Aachen and TU Dresden, has initiated joint master's programs allowing students to study at all three campuses. This program focuses on water security, emphasizing global perspectives on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate adaptation.
Students will begin their academic year at IIT Madras and spend a semester each at TUD and RWTH. They have the flexibility to conduct their master's thesis at their preferred institution. The program integrates interdisciplinary research, internships with various organizations, and close collaboration with companies, governmental agencies, and NGOs.
This partnership, which includes AIT, Bangkok, and UNU-FLORES, is a significant step towards equipping students with the necessary skills to address global water security challenges. This initiative is part of a broader, concerted effort to foster human capacity in achieving SDGs and mitigating climate change impacts through water-focused strategies and adaptation measures, underscoring the program's commitment to global issues.
