The maximum score obtainable is 1600 & Minimum score obtainable is 400
Both the sections Maths and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (Reading, Writing, and Language tests) are scored in the range 200-800.
The raw scores are converted to a range between 200-800.
The total of both these sections amounts to a range of 400-1600
The essay is scored in the range of 2-8
Apart from the above scores the students also receive two additional percentile scores. The percentile score gives an idea of how many students have equal and lower scores compared to your score.
From the table of 2019 percentile scores below we can infer that a score of 1200 and above is an above average score which is around percentile 75. A score of 1350 and above is a good score and can increase your admission chances to reputed universities as it places you in above 90 percentiles.
The IVY league and TOP 50 universities in the world consider applicants with SAT scores of 1450 and above with a very high GPA and an overall brilliant profile.
