The Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships are given to outstanding Indian students who exhibit leadership abilities, have a strong academic background, and professional experience. Fees for instruction (USIEF funding may not cover all costs and the scholar may need to supplement grant benefits with other resources).

Only those who are dedicated to returning to India after completing the course and who will contribute to making a transformative impact on the country's development are granted fellowships by the Selection Committee.

#ELIGIBILITY

Students from India must have earned an undergraduate degree from a recognised institution that is comparable to a bachelor's degree in the United States, such as:

a four-year bachelor's degree; or a completed master's degree; or a full-time postgraduate diploma (if the undergraduate degree is less than four years).

Applicants that meet this basic condition must check the following qualifying criteria:

Academic Qualification: A minimum of 55 percent in an undergraduate degree is required.
Leadership abilities and community service experience are required.
Professional Experience: Three years of full-time (paid) experience in a comparable field of study is required.
Language Proficiency: An IELTS score of 6.0 or an equivalent TOEFL/PTE score is required.

Students must contact the USIEF to request a language test waiver.

#APPLICATION PROCESS

The following is a step-by-step guide to applying for a Fulbright Nehru Master's Fellowship:

Go to the website and register for an account.
Fill up your personal information and click "Continue."
Applicants will receive an email with a pin that they must input in order to advance.
Create a password for the account and log in.
: Fill in the blanks with your personal, contact, and academic information.
Describe your language capabilities, study plan, personal statement, and university preferences, among other things.
Add the relevant documents to your account.
Complete the grant application and include any additional information, then submit the form.

Before submitting the application, go over it thoroughly. There should be no grammatical or spelling problems in the application.

#SELECTION PROCESS

The candidate does not need to apply to U.S. colleges separately; the IE/Fulbright Program will send their applications to four different institutions on their behalf.

The Fulbright Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their overall academic performance, work/experience skills, competency, skills, and community service experience. The student's CV and essay are also reviewed by the selection committee at the time of application.

Following a thorough evaluation of all of them, the candidates are shortlisted and notified by the USIEF. The Fellowship's Timeline and Placement Process are as follows:

The Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York is responsible for the placement of shortlisted candidates. The IIE/Fulbright programme will apply on their behalf to four different universities, so the selected applicants do not need to apply independently to US colleges. Candidates' preferences will be taken into account during this process.

Candidates who have already applied to the US Institutes must immediately notify USIEF.

Students enrolling in the Fulbright-Nehru Master's Program are eligible for Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships. It pays for tuition as well as basic living needs.

Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowship Terms and Conditions

Because the scholarship does not cover all expenses, the scholar may require additional grant advantages as well as other resources

Dependents are not eligible for financial assistance from the fellowship.
After completing their master's degree or research, the applicant must return to work in their home country.
The fellowship benefit will not be extended after the actual study is completed, i.e. after a maximum of two years.
Unless otherwise noted, Fulbright-Nehru applications are filed online.
The applicant is only eligible to apply for a Fulbright-Nehru fellowship.
After the deadline has passed, no applications will be considered.
It is not possible to extend or transfer the sponsorship of a visa.
Plagiarism in the application form will result in the applicant's disqualification.
